Ancient Sages & Philosophers
Maharshi Yagyavalkya
A towering figure of the Vedic age, Maharshi Yagyavalkya is the primary philosopher of the 'Brihadaranyaka Upanishad', the oldest and most profound Upanishad. As the chief sage in the court of King Janak, he expounded the philosophy of the Atman and Brahman. He is also credited with the 'Yajnavalkya Smriti', a key text on Hindu law, and the 'Shukla Yajurveda'. His dialogues with Maitreyi and Gargi remain the pinnacles of metaphysical inquiry.
