Laai (Puffed Rice Balls)

🥘 Ingredients

  • 3 cups Puffed Rice (Mudhi) or Roasted Chura
  • 1 cup Jaggery
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • Ginger powder (optional)

Melt jaggery with a little water to hard-ball consistency.

Turn off heat and quickly mix in the puffed rice.

Grease hands with water/ghee and shape the hot mixture into balls.

💡 Cultural Significance

A common winter treat, especially during Makar Sankranti.
