🥘 Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chura (Beaten Rice) - high quality
  • 1 cup Fresh Thick Curd (Dahi)
  • Sugar or Jaggery (Gur) to taste
  • Sliced Mango or Banana (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Wash the Chura lightly if it is thick, or use it dry if it is crisp.

Place Chura in a bowl.

Pour thick fresh curd over it.

Add sugar or crushed jaggery.

Mix well and eat immediately.

💡 Cultural Significance

It is the mandatory breakfast on the day of Makar Sankranti (Til Sakraat) in Mithila. It is famously known as "comfort food" for Maithils.
