Kathal (Jackfruit) Curry

🥘 Ingredients

  • 500g Raw Jackfruit (cubed)
  • 2 Onions (paste)
  • Ginger-Garlic paste
  • Whole Garam Masala (Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamon)
  • Meat Masala (optional)
  • Mustard Oil

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Fry the jackfruit cubes until golden. Set aside.

In oil, add whole spices and onion paste. Brown it well.

Add ginger-garlic and powdered spices. Cook until oil separates.

Add fried jackfruit and water.

Pressure cook for 1-2 whistles until soft.

💡 Cultural Significance

Often called "Vegetarian Mutton" (`Ahuna Kathal`), served on special occasions like Holi.
