Kachri (Onion Fritters)

🥘 Ingredients

  • 3 Onions (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup Besan or Soaked Masoor Dal paste
  • 2 Green Chilies
  • Corainder seeds (crushed)
  • Salt and Turmeric
  • Mustard Oil

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Mix sliced onions with salt and leave for 5 mins to release water.

Add spices and binding agent (besan/dal paste). Do not add water.

Heat oil. Drop irregular lumps of the mixture into hot oil.

Fry until crisp and brown.

Serve with puffed rice (Mudhi) or chutney.

💡 Cultural Significance

A favorite rainy day snack. Often pairs with Mudhi (`Mudhi-Kachri`).
